Saudi Arabia’s Expertise Group Agrees to Invest in Uttar Pradesh, Praises State’s Industrial Growth Climate

Lucknow: In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s investment landscape, Saudi Arabia-based Expertise Group has expressed its willingness to invest in the state and expand its operations. A high-level delegation of the group met Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ at his official residence on 6 Kalidas Marg on Saturday to discuss potential investment plans.

The delegation was led by Zafar Sareshwala, accompanied by Mohammad Anshif (Chief Strategy Officer), K.S. Sheikh (Chief Operating Officer) and Haider Abbas Syed (Business Director).

The Expertise Group showed strong interest in establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Uttar Pradesh, which is expected to generate 500–1000 back-office jobs. The team also revealed plans to set up a manufacturing unit in the state, expanding their footprint beyond services.

Minister Nandi welcomed the delegation and assured them of complete government support for their investment journey. He said, “Uttar Pradesh is now one of India’s most secure and investment-friendly states. With skilled human resources, the country’s largest consumer base, and world-class infrastructure, UP has become an ideal destination for global investors.”

Currently, Expertise Group operates a large back-office unit in Mangaluru, Karnataka, which it now plans to shift to Noida, encouraged by the UP Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy 2024 and its attractive incentives. This relocation will mark the first major step in the company’s multi-sector expansion in the state.

Founded in 2008 in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, Expertise Group is a leading industrial conglomerate with over 20,000 employees and an annual turnover exceeding ₹6,600 crore. The group operates in several key sectors including petrochemicals, oil and gas, fertilizers, steel, cement, water treatment, and power generation.

Now, the company is exploring opportunities in industrial services, modular manufacturing, and logistics hubs within Uttar Pradesh’s fast-developing industrial clusters. These projects are expected to further strengthen economic partnerships between India and Saudi Arabia.

Minister Nandi reiterated the state government’s commitment to facilitating investment and said UP’s progress is attracting strong global interest, with Expertise Group’s initiative setting a new benchmark for international collaboration in the state’s industrial growth story.
